| Scenario |
The definition of a lab: its environment, what is installed at the start, its tasks and its scoring. A scenario is Official (written by the Klastro team) or Studio (authored by your organization). |
| Lab |
General word for any environment you launch, whatever its type. |
| Session |
Your running copy of a scenario: a real, isolated environment built for you and destroyed when it ends. Its states are Starting, Provisioning, Ready, Paused and Ended. |
| Environment |
The machines or cluster behind a session. Its type shows on the scenario page, for example Virtual Cluster, Lightweight Kubernetes, Multi Node Cluster or Virtual Machine. |
| Lifetime |
The maximum duration of a session, set by the scenario. Paused time is not counted. When it runs out, the session ends automatically. |
| Pause |
Pausing a session stops its environment while keeping your work; you Resume it later at the same point. |
| Catalog |
The list of scenarios your organization can launch, filterable by product, level, source and tag. |
| Tutorial |
A guided, step-by-step lab where each step can be checked. Hints are free. |
| Challenge |
A graded task on a real environment. Your work is graded when you submit; hints cost points. |
| Playground |
A blank environment with no instructions and no grading, for open exploration. |
| Assessment |
A timed, proctored technical assessment made of one or more scenarios, which a candidate takes by invitation. Also the type of scenario reserved for that use. |
| Scenario Studio |
Klastro’s scenario authoring tool, available on the plans that include it. |

| Task |
A goal to reach in a scenario. In a tutorial, tasks show as Steps. |
| Check |
The automatic test that inspects your environment to decide whether a task passes. In a tutorial you run it with Check this step. |
| Hint |
Help you reveal when you need it. Free in a tutorial; costs points in a challenge or an assessment. |
| Points and Score |
Each graded task is worth a number of points; the score is the total you earn. A Pass mark may apply. |
| Session shell |
The lab’s main terminal, with kubectl, helm and ssh access to every machine. |
| Notes |
A notepad saved automatically and attached to the session. In an assessment, the recruiter sees it in your report. |
| Lobby |
An assessment’s waiting page, where your scenarios are prepared before you Enter. |

| Certification path |
A roadmap of steps from the first concept to exam readiness. Progress is self-declared: milestones, not credentials. |
| Track |
An instructor’s reusable curriculum: an ordered sequence of scenarios plus its materials. Not to be confused with a certification path. |
| Cohort |
One delivery of a track to a group, at a scheduled time, led by an instructor. |
| Training session |
What a participant sees of a cohort in My Training. |
| Trainee (cohort) |
A person enrolled in a cohort (a cohort participant). Not to be confused with the free Community seat holder, see Trainee (seat). |
| Place |
A trainee’s slot in a cohort, paid for in credits by the instructor. A place is not a seat. |
