Supervise a run live
While a candidate takes their assessment, you can follow their progress scenario by scenario, watch their terminal without being able to type in it, add or remove time, and pause or stop a scenario.
Prerequisites: be a Recruiter or an admin in the organization, and have a candidate who has started their assessment from their invitation.
Open a candidate’s run
Section titled “Open a candidate’s run”-
Open Assess, then Assessments.
-
Under All assessments, find the candidate. The counters at the top show the total number of runs, the Active ones (in progress) and the Completed ones.
-
Click the View assessment icon at the end of the row.
The run page updates by itself while the Live badge is shown. If the badge says Disconnected, reload the page.
| Card | Content |
|---|---|
| Information | Candidate Name, Candidate Email, Assessment, Started. |
| Time Remaining | The assessment’s global countdown, then Final Score once the run is over. |
| Sessions | One scenario per row: Scenario, Status, Started, Duration, Score. |
Until the assessment is over, the Score column shows an information icon (“Score will be revealed after the assessment is complete.”).
Watch the candidate’s terminal
Section titled “Watch the candidate’s terminal”-
On the run page, under Sessions, click the scenario’s View session icon.
-
In the Infrastructure Deployment Status card, the Live CloudShell Terminal area shows the candidate’s terminal, marked Observing.
-
If the lab has several machines, switch between them with the terminal tabs.
This terminal is a read-only mirror: you see what the candidate types and what their commands print, but your keystrokes never reach them. The candidate stays in control.
The terminal is not shown while the scenario is paused, stopping or finished. The area then becomes Isolated User Space Shell, with a badge showing the state.
The Session Diagnostics card gives the Created at and Started at dates, the elapsed Duration and, once the assessment is over, the scenario’s Final Points.
Add or remove time
Section titled “Add or remove time”Useful when the candidate lost time for a reason outside their control.
-
On the run page, find the Time Remaining card.
-
In the field under the countdown (Adjust time (minutes)), enter a number of minutes. The default is 5.
-
Click + (Add N min) or − (Remove N min).
The “Added N min to the assessment” or “Removed N min from the assessment” message confirms the change, and the countdown updates. The total duration never drops below 1 minute. The control disappears once the assessment is over.
Pause or resume a scenario
Section titled “Pause or resume a scenario”On a scenario’s supervision panel:
- Pause suspends the scenario’s environment. The “Session paused successfully” message confirms it;
- Resume brings it back. The “Session resumed successfully” message confirms it.
Stop a scenario
Section titled “Stop a scenario”-
On the scenario’s supervision panel, click Complete.
-
In the Complete Session? window, click Yes, Complete Session.
After stopping, you return to the run page.
