Join a training session

In an instructor-led class, the instructor moves the whole group from one scenario to the next. This guide is for participants: how to find the class, open your environment at the right moment and stay in touch with your instructor.

What you need: a member account in the organization running the class. The instructor enrols you; you do not pay for your place.

If you did not have a Klastro account yet, being enrolled creates one and you receive a Join … on Klastro email. Click Set up my account, choose a password, then click Activate account (see Create an account and sign in).

If you already had an account, just sign in: the class shows up in your organization.

  1. In the sidebar, open Train, then click My Training.

  2. Your classes are sorted into three sections: Happening now, Upcoming and Finished. Each card shows the instructor and the time.

  3. Click the class to open it.

Before the class begins, it shows Not started and the message Your environment opens when your instructor starts the session.

  1. When the instructor starts the class, the status switches to Live. No need to reload the page.

  2. Click Start my environment. Your environment is built at that moment, just for you.

  3. Click Open my environment. The lab opens on the current scenario.

To work inside the lab, see The lab environment and Tasks and checks.

The Programme section lists the class’s scenarios, in order. During the class, the instructor moves everyone from one scenario to the next; you are here marks the current step.

When the instructor moves you to another step, the environment of the previous step is set aside. If you go back to it, the lab shows This environment is paused: your work is kept, and the environment starts again when the instructor brings you back to that step. Click Back to the class to return to the class page.

The lab’s Leave lab button takes you back to the class page, not to the dashboard.

  1. Click Ask for help, on the class page or in the lab.

  2. Optionally describe what is blocking you in What has you stuck. The field is optional: a hand up with nothing written on it is still a hand up.

  3. Confirm with Ask for help. The button reads Help requested while your request is open.

Your instructor sees the request on their class monitor. They can connect into your environment to help: the lab then shows Your instructor has joined this environment to help you. If you no longer need help, click Never mind.

When the instructor closes the session, the page shows This class has ended: the environments are stopped and no scenario can be picked back up.

  • The class Resources stay available.
  • The Your feedback section lets you rate the class from 1 to 5 and add a Comment. Tick the attribution box if you want the instructor to know the feedback is yours; otherwise they see the rating and comment without your name. Send it with Send my feedback; you can change it later with Update my feedback.
